Physicist, ecologist and activist Dr. Vandana Shiva will discuss the world food crisis and other critical issues of our day.
Dr. Vandana Shiva is the winner of the alternative 1993 Nobel Peace Prize (the Right Livelihood Award) and was named among the top five "Most Important Poeple in Asia" by AsiaWeek in 2001. She is one of the world's most dynamic and provocative thinkers on the environment, women's issues and international affairs. She has written numerous books including Biopiracy: The Plunder of Nature, and Knowledge and Stolen Harvest: The Hijacking of the Global Food Supply, among many others.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $10 for Students and $25 at the door and include a wine reception and book signing after the talk.
